Ben Kessel is a 2006 catcher from Council Rock HS in Richboro, Pennsylvania, with a strong 5'10"/180 pound frame. As a catcher, he has a good release from behind the plate. Ben showed a solid arm with a 2.12 pop time and moves well behind the dish. As a right handed hitter, Kessel hits from an upright stance with a short stride. He has quick hands and is a line drive hitter that makes consistent solid contact. Ben is a physically strong player and is also a good student.

Ben Kessel is a 2006 catcher from Richboro, Pennsylvania, with a 5'10", 180 lb. frame. He has quick feet behind the plate with good balance and quick actions. His throws were on line with good arm strength and carry. Kessel has soft hands and receives the ball well, and has a good set up. He hits from a straight stance with good balance and a short stride. Kessel has a short load with a slight lift in his swing. He showed solid bat speed with a high finish. Kessel is a contact hitter to all fields with some gap power, and a controlled presence at the plate. Kessel continues to improve, and has the chance to get even better. He is a must follow for the 2006 class. gets better each time we see him. Needs a few inches to become a serious prospect.

Ben is an "06" catcher from PA. He's not a big guy, but he is strong and lean with plenty of room and time to gain more strength yet. Defensively he shows quick feet, nice hands, and a good accurate arm. At the plate he shows quick hands with an opposite field type approach. He has a nice balanced set up and maintains that balance throughout the swing. He flashes power potential. Ben is a good student with a bright baseball future.
