Rudy Owens is a 2006 LHP/OF from Mesa, Arizona, with a very strong looking body at 6'2", 195 lbs. On the mound he sat at 84 mph out of a 3/4 arm slot. Owens fell off to his glove side after his release, which cost himself 2-3 mph. He throws a knuckle curve at 65 mph that works for him. Offensively, he bats in an upright high hands from the load position. Owens is a rotational hitter who will hit with above average power, the ball jumped off his bat in batting practice. Defensively he took good angles to the ball and did a solid job in the outfield. His arm strength is solid at 84 mph. Owens is an interesting two way player that could also play 1B with his size and bat.
