Dyan Zayas is a 2013 C/1B with a 5-8 180 lb. frame from Bayamon, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Medium, stocky, strong frame, particularly strong lower half. Solid receiving skills behind the plate, quiet actions, has an idea back there, makes the most of present arm strength. Right-handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance, needs to get more balanced and lower half more involved. Hits well to the opposite field, level swing path, flashes some bat speed, sound up the middle approach. Excellent student.
