Austin Pate is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Hueytown, AL who attends Hueytown. Tall strong build, lean and athletic. Pitches from high 3/4 arm slot, silent front side, loose arm action, not much use of lower half. More velocity in arm with improved delivery, quality changeup. Good athlete, moves well for size, threw 86 from outfield. Has raw bat speed, jerky swing mechanics, short to ball, aggressive hitter, rotational swing. Good raw underlying tools, needs time to develop. Good student.
