Rocky Weiss is middle infielder/pitcher from Lynchburg, Virginia. He is a very physical, 6'1", 170 lb. athletically strong body player with 7.19 sixty speed. He has a body that will really get hard and strong down the road. On the mound, Rocky shows very good arm speed, and is a four pitch pitcher with good feel for all his pitches. He has some effort in his delivery with a full hands over head take back, and a slight cross body release with extended 3/4 arm slot, and good down and through low finish. Rocky showed a range of 81-86 mph on his fastball to go along with a 68-71 mph curveball, a 75-78 mph slider, and a 76-78 mph split finger pitch. His curveball had a big sweeping break that was sharp at times. Rocky was under his slider frequently, but was more consistent at the higher velocities. In the infield, Rocky shows some arm strength with 80 mph velocity from a low 3/4 arm slot you generally see from third basemen. With good arm strength and good hands on ground balls, Rocky looks like a third baseman with good range and quick transfers. At the plate, Rocky is a right handed hitter with a no load approach and no trigger. He takes a short quick path to the ball with average balance in his swing. College programs will want to see Rocky, and he's a two way player at many programs. He's a good student.
