Steven Garrett is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Murrieta, CA who attends Vista Murrieta HS. Solid athletic build, good present strength. Slow paced hand drop delivery, long loose arm action, extended 3/4's release, not consistent with release point. Primary fastball pitcher, topped out at 84 mph, mostly straight, shows nice change with sink to left handed hitters, should throw more to right handed hitters. Two types of breaking ball, big and slow 66 mph, flat sweeping 74 mph slurve. Has some projection, especially with more consistency. Right handed hitter, very spread stance, long uppercut swing, gets ball into the air, ball jumps well when centered. Solid infield actions, good hands, slow release but makes the routine play well. Good overall athleticism. Very good student.

Steven Garrett is a 2013 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-2 208 lb. frame from Murrieta, CA who attends Vista Murrieta. Big framed 2-way player. Garrett is a bit more advanced on the mound but did also show a strong swing with a line drive plane at the plate. His future is likely on the mound where his online delivery with good extension and slight downhill plane work well with his imposing presence. Showed a 4 pitch mix and the ability to throw strikes. He should begin to reach his potential as he gets stronger and increases his velocity and the spin on his breaking ball stuff. Very good student.
