Deandre Simpson is a 2013 RHP/3B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Spring Valley, CA who attends Rock Academy. Simpson has a large frame with a thick strong build. He pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action and arm speed. He has a balanced delivery and he pitches with low effort. Simpson works quick on the mound and the ball comes out of his hand clean. Simpson gets heavy sink on his fastball which produces lots of ground balls. He gets good arm side run and sink on his fastball and also throws a breaking ball with tight spin. He adds and subtracts well with his breaking ball and throws it for strikes. Simpson has solid actions defensively with nice hands. At the plate, Simpson starts with a slightly open stance and an aggressive approach. He has a big swing with bat speed and power potential. Good hitting tools, legit two way guy.
