Reid Auger is a 2006 catcher/third baseman from Billerica, MA. Auger has a strong, mature 6'2", 180 pound body, and is a legitimate two position player (catcher/third baseman) that was named to the Underclass Top Prospect Team. He has outstanding bat speed with a controlled, aggressive approach to the hitting zone. As a catcher, he showed great defensive skills, quick feet, and a strong throwing arm with a 2.01 pop time in workouts. He showed great range in the infield at third base with a strong, accurate throwing arm at 78 mph and good lateral movement. Reid is a good student.

Auger is a 2006 grad and showed some good actions as a shortstop. He has a good 5 foot 9 and 170 pound frame projecting for growth and added strength over the next 2 years. His speed and arm profile best at second base right now, but with his projection and good actions he might find his future at SS or behind the plate. He stayed down on the ball, attacked grounders and can make the slow roller look easy throwing across his body. He showed some good pop with wood and if he shortened up the swing a little bit he would be even better. Reid is a very good student.
