Patrick DuFrayne: DuFrayne is a strong bodied young catcher from Pennsylvania with a strong arm and the ability to put up pop times under 2.0. He’s a solid defensive catcher, too, and shifted well in both directions on balls in the dirt. DuFrayne can definitely catch at the college level if he can make some adjustments with his swing and keep his bat in the line up. He has the strength to be an effective hitter but lunges out early and open on his front side, carrying his hands with him and negating any strength and bat speed that he might generate. He has definite hitting ability and could really blossom into a good pro prospect in the right college program.

Patrick is an "04" catcher from PA. At 6'1/195 he has developed a good strong MLB type body. We've seen him several times and he just keeps getting better and better. He showed a strong, quick, accurate throwing arm from behind the plate. His footwork is clean and quick with good balance. He's a good receiver with soft hands and good instincts. At the plate he hits out of a high hands set showing good hand strength and bat speed. He has a nice balanced swing and projects to hit with power. He can go the opposite way with authority. He does tend to drift at times causing his hands to drop slightly, but this can be an easy fix at the next level. Patrick is a solid player who will continue to improve at the college level. He is also a good student.

DuFrayne is an "04" C who can hit. At 6'1/195 his body looks very sturdy and strong. He showed good arm strength, popping 1.9 with 77 mph velocity. He can receive and moves fairly well behind the plate. His arm is his top defensive tool. At the plate he showed good actions and some juice in his bat. He seems to know how to hit good pitching. He took a high 80s fastball with 2 strikes the other way for a hit and had several good at bats. Patrick is a very good student.

DuFrayne is a strong young man who projects to have some power at the next level. He has some natural loft in his swing and should be able to hit his share of home runs and doubles, especially with aluminum. He has plenty of arm strength to stay behind the plate at the next level but needs to work on shortening his release and becoming more directional to second base so his throws won’t tail. He can definitely catch and hit at the next level. Patrick is a good student as well.

Good strong catchers body and some quickness behind the plate. Needs to find a good hitting instructor. Nice quiet approach, but doesn't use his body and strength enough.
