Austin Stroschein is a 2013 RHP with a 6-5 187 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Linn-Mar. Young pitcher with lots of projection in body. Tall, slender build. Stays closed in delivery, gets downhill and throws on good plane. Effectively pitches inside to right handed hitters, around zone with all pitches. Fastball shows arm side run. Quickness in arm, ball jumps out of hand. Slider is slurvy but has sharp break, has feel for changeup, potential above average #2 pitch. Big potential. Right handed pitcher to watch as he develops. Good student.

Austin Stroschein is a 2013 RHP with a 6-5 185 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Linn-Mar HS. Very nice pitcher's build, long and loose with plus physical projection. Slow paced delivery, stays balanced over the rubber well, clean deep arm circle, low effort release. Steady mid 80's fastball, topped out at 87 mph, shows late life to fastball to both sides of the plate, will both cut and run at times. Flashes spin and depth on curveball, tends to get on side of it and slow arm on release, did not see change up. Velocity up 4-5 mph from 2011, should continue to improve as he adds strength. Promising young arm. Good student.

Austin Stroschein is a 2013 RHP/3B with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Linn-Mar HS. Nice pitcher's build, long and loose, projects to get stronger. Calm and simple leg raise delivery, high 3/4's arm slot, low effort release, works downhill well. Mid 80's fastball topped at 87 mph mostly straight with occasional arm side run. Nice change up with good arm speed and very good late life. Flashed promising curveball spin/depth, tends to stiffen on curveball release. Velocity up 4-5 mph from last fall, plenty of room to keep improving, follow closely. Good student.
