Romine is a 6-1, 195 lb. 2007 catcher from Lake Forest, California with a strong athletic frame. Romine showed good arm strength throwing the ball 80 mph down to second base in the workout and 87 mph off the mound. Romine showed good balance and receiving skills behind the plate and flashed a 1.94 pop time. At the plate, Romine starts with a high hand set and an open stance. He showed good balance and strength in his swing with good bat speed. Romine has raw power and showed power to all fields. Romine also pitches and threw an 87 mph fastball, 75 mph slider, and a 70 mph change up. He has a live arm with real solid mechanics off the hill. Romine has a long smooth arm action and throws a tight slider. Romine is a definate two way prospect with a good upside.
