2004 Sunshine East Showcase
Nicholas Polston is a 6'1" catcher from Lake Wales, FL, with very good upper body strength, especially across his back and shoulders. He’s a good all around athlete with well above average speed for a catcher. Polston’s arm strength is very good and he showed his arm and quick release both in games and in the workout. Polston has the potential to be a good hitter with above average power potential due to his strength. He’s probably a very dangerous hitter with metal in his hand right now. His swing is well balanced and sound, but he was often tentative with his swing during the Showcase. Both of Perfect Game’s primary scouts wrote the same exact comment in the their notes; (Needs to attack the ball more!) Good athletic catcher, strong arm and tons of hitting potential. Nicholas is a good student.
