Mike Edgerton is a 2008 RHP with a 6'2'', 215 lb. frame from Ft Wayne, IN who attends Snider HS. He has a thick, broad shouldered build and good present strength. Edgerton throws from a rotational delivery with a long, slinging arm action and extended3/4's release point that causes him to come over the ball at release. He repeats his delivery well and has a feel for keeping the ball down in the strike zone. Edgerton's fastball was steady at 78-80 mph with good sink and tailing action. His best pitch was a 72 mph slider that had late break and which induced numerous bad swings. He also threw a nice sinking change up. Edgerton got quick outs effectively and showed a good idea how to pitch with his stuff. He is also a very good student.

Mike Edgerton is a 2008 RHP/1B with a 6'2'', 215 lb. frame from Ft. Wayne IN, who attends Snider HS. He has a big, strong mature body for his age. Edgerton is a sinker ball pitcher who throws a heavy 76-77 mph fastball down in the strike zone and gets hitters to pound the ball into the ground. His secondary pitch is a 68 mph change up that had the same type of sinking action as his fastball. We didn't see a breaking ball from Edgerton. He worked quickly and got hitters to swing the bat early in counts. Edgerton breaks down his back leg in his delivery and pitches from a crouched position, which may help the sink on his fastball but also likely limits the potential growth of his fastball. Edgerton is a very good student.

Mike Edgerton is a 2008 RHP/1B from Snider HS in Ft. Wayne, IN, with a large thick build at 6-1, 210 lbs. He throws from a low ¾ arm slot with very little effort and good arm speed. He uses a full wind up and a drop and drive style delivery. He has good mechanics, a very repeatable delivery, and a clean arm action. His fastball was a good pitch at 74 mph with very good sink and good command. His best pitch was a change up with fade and sink at 69 mph, which he also had good command of. He uses a very good two-pitch mix to keep hitters off balance. He is a very smart pitcher that will consistently get people out as he continues to mature. He really knows how to pitch. At the plate, he shows a no load and short stride approach with a line drive swing path. He has strength and shows good bat control that will improve as he matures. Potential high-level college pitcher. Mike is a very good student.

Mike Edgerton is a young 2008 RHP/1B from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, with a big frame and strong lower half at 6'1", 200 pounds. He pitches from a 3/4 slot with the typical full wind-up, and gets late life on his fastball (66-71mph). He crosses over slightly, and gets off balance on his finish which costs him accuracy at times, but it also adds deception. Offensively, he has a downward swing plane dominated by a strong lower hand. He has very good bat control on the inside half of the plate, but needs to work on going to the opposite field with the outside pitches. Mike has a very young body, with a good frame for his age making him very projectable. As he gains quickness and arm strength, he will definitely be one to watch closely in the future.
