Andrew Istler is a 2011 RHP/OF with a 5-11 168 lb. frame from Wellington, FL who attends Wellington. Slender young build, minimal present strength. Nice 2-way skills. Mid 80's fastball from simple turn and throw delivery, good feel for spin/shape on curveball, occ gets on side of CB, change sinks well, shows command and the ability to mix it up. 6.67 runner, quick hands hitting, gets the barrel to the ball, can handle low 90's velo, lacks strength to drive the ball but squares up. Good outfield actions, shows arm strength, quick release, aggressive approach. Might have higher ceiling as an outfielder, quality 2-way college player. Very good student, verbal commitment to Duke.
