John Howie is a 2011 LHP/1B with a 6-3 160 lb. frame from Redmond, WA who attends Bellevue Christian. Howie has an excellent pitcher's build, tall and lanky with long limbs and a trim waist. Works from a 3/4 arm slot, and uses a well balanced and deceptive delivery. He pitches down on the zone and really works the corners of the plate, will reach back for more velocity when needed. Curveball has 2-8 shape to it and he gets good spin and tilt on it. Sets up well at first base and makes plays moving to either side, good size target for his infielders. Open stance at the plate, makes contact out in front, aggressive approach, gets hands through the ball. Good student.
