Billy Sommers is a 2011 1B/LHP with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Lake Charles, LA who attends Sam Houston HS. Strong well proportioned build. Aggressive swing with good bat speed, wide base, good load, hands are short and quick when hitting to all fields, will get long and try to pull/lift at times, solid overall approach, smooth swing, solid contact to all fields, power is there to develop. 7.48 runner, soft hands at first base. Also pitched, upper 70's fastball with occasional cut, clean delivery and arm action, some feel for change up, short breaking slider, throws strikes. Good student.
