Matthew Koerick: Koerick is a broad shouldered and physically strong young man with a sound baseball background. Unfortunately, he was unable to throw the ball or play defense at the Showcase due to a sore shoulder but he looks like the third base/catcher he lists himself as. Koerick has a inside out approach at the plate and looks to hit the ball to the opposite field. He has an easy swing that is fundamentally sound but he really doesn’t take the kind of swing that you’d expect a player with his natural strength to take. There’s more bat speed there if he were to be more aggressive. Overall, we’d like to get a better and longer look at Koerick when he’s healthy and relaxed as we’ve heard he’s a good college prospect.

Matt is a solidly built, 5-10/185 lb. "senior" catcher from Radnor, Pennsylvania. He also shows the abilty to play a corner infield position well. We see him best suited at combining 1B and catching at the college level. At the plate he hits from the left side and can mash. Matt has the ability to hit with power to the opposite field with a nice balanced swing through contact. He has a outstanding left handed swing that creates good bat speed and leverage. In the field he shows soft hands, good feet and a 73mph arm with carry. He has good receiving skills with nice actions. He is a good player with a big bat and serious power potential. Matthew is a very good student.

Koerick is a 5'10-185 catcher with 7.49 foot speed. He's a LH batter with a nice swing. He shows good bat speed with good line drive power. Behind the plate he shows ave feet and transfer with a 2.21 pop. Overall arm strength development will help his game, but he has already improved greatly in this area over the last year. He keeps getting better and he has outstanding bloodlines. Could be a late bloomer! Matthew is an outstanding student.

04 catcher who looked pretty good behind the plate. Strong body and moves well. Arm strength needs to improve. Keeps his hands inside the ball and may end up hitting for some power. Possible late bloomer.
