Matt Kallaoun is a 2006 3B/RHP from Lassiter High School in Marietta, GA, with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame. He has a strong, solid frame who reminds some of the PG staff of a young Scott Rolen. Defensively he has good arm strength with online carry and soft hands. He made some great plays at third base during the showcase games showing great third base actions, especially on slow rollers where he showed great body control for a player of his size. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a no load, no stride approach. Kallaoun has good bat speed with a line drive swing plane, and stays balanced through his swing. There is strength in his swing with present raw power and more to come. Kallaoun battles at the plate, and has a good understanding of the strike zone. His hands work well at the plate and he has the ability to hit the ball where it is pitched. Kallaoun has a great package of talent, and is an excellent student as well.

Kallaoun is a 6-2 third baseman/right handed pitcher from Georgia who we have seen frequently in the past. He has a very good baseball body and solid baseball tools across the board. Kallaoun ran the 60 in 7.45 and threw 84 mph during infield drills. He is an advanced third baseman defensively with good hands, very good balance and plenty of arm strength and can definitely play that position at a high college level. Offensively, Kallaoun has a sound fundamental swing with good shortness to the ball and extension out front. He showed gap to gap power with a couple of doubles in the games and has repeatedly shown us this type of talent in other events as well. He still has room to add strength and this should help improve his overall bat speed in the future. Kallaoun also threw a couple of innings in relief and he is a prospect as a pitcher as well. He aggressively attacked hitters with an 85-86 mph fastball and also showed some quality on a low 70’s curveball and 78 mph change up. Kallaoun’s mechanics are polished and he maintains a good downhill plane to the plate. He should be followed as a pitcher in the future as well as a hitter. Kallaoun is a solid student as well.

Kallaoun is an athletic 6-1 junior third baseman from Georgia with a polished set of tools ideal for his position. Kallaoun appears a bit taller than his listed height, with high hips and a broad frame that can handle more strength and more weight. Kallaoun is a nice defensive third baseman. He has plenty of arm strength, good hands and good mobility side to side. He threw 82 mph during infield drills and ran the 60 in 7.41. Kallaoun has a mature hitting approach at the plate and knows how to swing the wood bat. He gets the bat head to the ball with very good bat speed and can adjust his swing to hit the ball to right centerfield as well as pull his hands through to pull it. He made consistent solid contact at the showcase and we’ve seen the same thing out of him in games. Kallaoun also showed nice arm strength from the mound, topping out at 84 mph from a high ¾’s arm slot with an easy, tension free arm stroke. He is a very good student.
