Caruso is a 6-0, 220 lb senior left handed pitcher from Illinois with a very strong upper half. He tends to open up very early in his delivery and falls off heavily to the third base side on release. Caruso’s fastball topped out at 75 mph. He pitched mostly with a big sweeping curveball that he varied the speed on between the mid 50’s and 67 mph. Caruso was able to throw consistent strikes with his curveball and was effective with it.

Matt is an '06 LHP/1B from Monee, IL with a large, strong 6-1/215lb body. Defensive he shows good feet around the bag at 1B with good hands and nice throwing accuracy. At the plate he shows nice power potential, but needs some work learning how to stay inside the ball better. He has a strong tendancy to hit the outer half of the ball and get out in front. On the mound he needs some polish, but flashes some potential to become a nice "soft lefty". He needs to gain some velocity with his 73mph FB that could be helped by a better finish. He has a nice CV for his out pitch. With some mechanical help he can get a much better and has strong potential.
