Matt Barber is a 2006 middle infielder from Stockton, California, with an average frame and build at 5'10", 170 lbs. Barber is athletic and well proportioned with room to add more strength in the future. Offensively, he shows an average base with a small stride towards contact, and is a contact type hitter that can use the whole field. He is quick out of the batter's box, with better first step quickness than his 60 time might suggest, which is good for a middle infielder. Barber has good hands defensively, and online throws with plus accuracy. The ball does show some carry off the bat, and Barber has the potential to get stronger and enhance his present tools. Matt is a very good student.
