Leslie Williams is a 2007 RHP/OF with a 6'2'', 205 lb. frame from Toronto, ON who attends Birchmount Park C.I.. He is an excellent all around athlete with prospect tools as both a right handed pitcher and outfielder. Williams has a quick, compact arm stroke and very good arm strength. He was 87-90 on the mound with his fastball and 94 from the outfield during drills. His breaking ball was 72-75 mph and varied between a bigger CB break and a shorter, sharper SL break at basically the same velocities. Both have good shape and spin and the SL would be a better pitch if he would throw it harder. We've seen Williams earlier this year with better velocity and sharper breaking balls. In addition to his arm strength as an outfielder, Williams is also a 6.62 runner. He has raw bat speed and power at the plate but is probably less advanced in his swing than in any other area of the game. But he is an outstanding prospect as an athletic outfielder and should hit with power in the future.

Leslie Williams is a 2007 RHP/OF with a 6'2'', 193 lb. frame from Toronto ON, who attends Birchmount Park C.I. He has a very athletic build that combines present strength with looseness. This was the best that we've seen Williams pitch on a number of levels and he's put himself into the top prospect area if he can keep this up during the spring. Williams is very athletic and has a well paced delivery with late explosion to the plate. He repeated his delivery well. Williams velocity comes easy and is consistent in the 88-92 mph range. The lower velocity fastballs had very nice running life down. Williams threw both curveball and a slider; the curveball had a sharp, tight 12/6 type of break, while the slider was more wide and sweeping. Both were quality pitches. Williams change up also had life and deception. He threw all four of his pitches with command and purpose, worked quickly and competed hard. Before this outing we'd considered Williams just as much a position prospect but this changes the equation. Williams is a good student who has signed with Northeastern.

Leslie Williams is a 2007 right hand pitcher from Birchmont C.I., residing in Scarborough, ON. Williams has a lean, lively, athletic build on his 6'2" 188 lb. frame. Looking at him on the mound, he simply looks like the type of pitcher that has quality stuff. Though he does need some polish, Williams ranked #42 among PG National Top 85 pitchers and was one of the more interesting ones to watch. He pitches from a high 3/4 slot and has quite a quick arm, just like you expect when you see him standing on the mound. On the back side he takes his arm stroke to some deep extension and creates his arm speed from that point. Williams is aggressive with his arm and looks like he trusts what comes out of his hand. He has a cross body stride and works quickly down the slope, gaining on the hitter and putting them a bit on their heels. His fastball was 84-89 mph and he looks like he has quite a bit more in there, with that live body and arm. Williams' release point was inconsistent, a result of the speed and timing within his delivery, but he is athletic enough to feel confident that he can fix that. His fastball had some run and when he gets more command of his hand out front of his body, his fastball will get that much more late life. His 70-73 mph curveball has rolling action and 11/5 shape and he also showed a sweeping 80 mph slider. Both breakers have decent spin and can be developed. Williams used the fastball a lot, showing that trust in his stuff. He is a projectable arm that just needs some polish, quite understandable for a kid from Canada. His 6.86 60 yard time indicates good athleticism and only adds to his projection. Some D1 programs may come calling on Williams and it is also conceivable that he would attend a JC in the states, as so many Canadian players do. He does have a chance to develop into a professional prospect as well.
