Leighton Cooper is a 2008 OF with a 6', 170 lb frame from Fort Washington, MD who attends Flint Hill HS. Leighton has an athletic build with a little bit of room to fill out. Leighton is a switch-hitter, but he looks much better from the right side of the plate and might want to just stick to that side. He has a simple balanced approach and shows the ability to hit the ball to all fields. Leighton is able to stay inside most balls and makes consistent line-drive contact. In the outfield Leighton is light on his feet and has very clean actions. He is good to the ball and has a good understanding of how to play the game. Leighton is a solid student that should attract the attention of some mid-level college programs.
