Lance Parker is a very strong 6'3", 195 lb. pitcher/infielder from Sachse, Texas. He’s very raw both on the mound and with the bat, but flashed plenty of big time potential. On the mound, Parker threw mostly 83-84 mph on his fastball from a mid ¾ release point that produced some running action. Parker’s arm action was somewhat restricted, and he lacks extension out front with some recoil, and his stuff would improve if he could get out front and through the ball better. Parker’s best secondary pitch was a nice sinking change up at 66-67 mph. His 67-68 mph curveball was a bit loose. Although he lists himself as a primary pitcher, Parker’s future may be with the bat, though. Like his pitching style, Parker doesn’t always get extended out front, but he has very strong hands and generates good bat speed. He destroyed some balls in batting practice and showed a good ability in games and BP to make adjustments and hit the ball to the middle of the field. Parker isn’t a smooth or polished hitter yet, but you won’t see many players with his raw power ability. Lance is a good student.
