Felix is a 6-0, 175 lb left handed hitting junior catcher from California with a nice projectable frame and some present upper body strength. Felix ran the 60 in 8.00 and threw 69 mph in drills with a best pop time of 2.30. Felix hits from a tall, balanced stance and shows very good bat speed. He has the ability to wait until the ball gets deep on his hands and still get the bat through and drive the ball hard. Felix made consistent hard contact in batting practice and followed up with three solid hits in the games. He has some uppercut in his swing that’s going to help him develop some power down the road as he fills out. Overall, Felix looks like a very good young hitting prospect who is going to have to work on his defensive tools and skills to round out his game.

Kyle Felix is a 2007 catcher from Woodside, California, with a 6'0", 175 lb. frame. Felix traveled all the way from California to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to show his abilities, and stayed both days displaying his advanced skills and dedication to the game. Defensively he has soft hands and receives the ball well. Felix has very good footwork and moves well behind the plate. He shows good lateral movement with college level blocking skills. Felix is advanced defensively, and showed good arm strength for his age. He has an advanced approach at the plate with very good bat speed. Felix gets good leverage in his swing, and shows some developing raw power. He has a great understanding of the strike zone and doesn't chase bad pitches. Felix tracks pitches well and stays on the curveball well for a 2007 player. He is a left handed hitting catcher with power potential. He is a top level hitter, and has present college skills behind the plate. We think he has a great future. He is also an outstanding student.

Kyle Felix is a 2007 catcher/third baseman from Woodside, California with a lean build that shows lower half strength at 6'0", 175 pounds. He hits from a wide stance with little or no stride. He has good bat speed with a long swing plane. He makes solid hard contact and shows a good potential to hit for power. He hits hard line drives and uses the whole field. Behind the plate, he showed good lateral movement and very good blocking skills. He showed good instincts and he has a good feel for the position. He popped a 2.09 with decent arm strength. He has a nice projectable body, and will add strength as he matures. Could be a high level catching prospect for 2007. Kyle is a very good student.
