Cook is a 5-10 sophomore second baseman from South Carolina. He has a nice medium athletic frame that should get stronger as he matures. Cook made consistent contact in batting practice and games hitting out of an open stance with a simple line drive swing. Cook also threw a couple of innings in relief, pitching in the mid-60’s with his fastball but throwing a knuckleball that was both pretty good and pretty effective. Cook is an excellent student who looks like he really enjoys playing the game. Only an 07 he has lots of time to develop.
