Sikes Orvis is a 2011 1B/C with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Freedom HS. Big strong physical build, mature look. Left handed hitter, comfortable and balanced in the box, keeps hands tight and coiled, very quick hands, good lower half flow, bat speed, shows very nice pull power, knows how to hit and squares it up. Primary first baseman, playable skills with good arm strength, has improved noticeably defensively as a catcher, more athletic balanced actions, improved quickness, softer hands. Big bonus if he can catch at least part-time as bat is going to play high. Good student, verbal commitment to Mississippi.
