Andrew Webster is a 2008 RHP from Ferguson HS in Miami, FL, with a 5'11'', 155 lb. frame and some physical projectability. He throws with a multi-part delivery that could use some smoothing out. Webster has a long arm action in back with a pronouced stabbing action down his leg and a low 3/4's arm action. His fastball was 77-79 mph and had good sinking life when he got it down in the zone. Webster's 66 mph had some 2-plane tumbling actions and he maintained good arm speed on a sinking 71 mph change up. Webster was effective when he spotted the ball on the corners and stayed out of the middle of the plate. He's still very young for a sophomore and has plenty of time and the tools to further develop. He's also a good student.

Webster is a freshman right handed pitcher from Miami and one of the youngest athletes at the showcase. He looks significantly larger than his listed size and might have just grown between the date he signed up and the date of the event. Webster threw four effective innings at the showcase. He has very advanced pitching mechanics for his age and a smooth arm action that will enable him to improve as he gets older and stronger. Webster was also able to throw strikes and not seem intimidated by pitching against older kids in that environment. His fastball was 68-71 mph but his best pitch was a 58-61 mph curveball that had good depth and spin and that he had a good feel for moving around the strike zone. Webster’s obviously very young with plenty of growing to do, but he has some nice skills already in place.
