Joshua Luth is a 2005 right handed pitcher/catcher from Ravenna, Nebraska, with a large, 6'6", 190 lb. frame. Luth is tall and slender, and throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a deceptive motion. He has a slight drop and drive delivery which lowers his release point and doesn't allow him to create the downward plane to the plate he should have with his size. Luth throws across his body slightly, and it helps produce some run on his 77 mph fastball. He also throws a sweeping curveball at 65 mph with a 10 to 4 angle. It is hard to pick up the ball in his delivery, making it hard for hitters to get good looks at his pitches. He is very projectable and it's been reported that he's been up to mid 80s before. Joshua is a very good student.
