Josh Perri is a 2006 RHP/OF from Serra HS, residing in Half Moon Bay, CA, with a 5'11", 175 lb. frame. Perri has an average build but has the potential to develop some power with strength gains in his lower half. He has a long arm action, with some quickness in his arm stroke. Perri pitches from a 3/4 slot and is able to get good extension toward the plate, which enhances the movement on his pitches. With good body control and a compact delivery Perri creates on-time separation over the rubber, allowing him to throw a lot of strikes. His fastball (79-81) has some arm side run and sink, and at times cuts away. His breaking ball (72-74) is a slurve-type with lateral frisbee type action. Perri throws his change-up (71-74) with good arm speed and gets some down action. In general Perri does not throw a straight ball. He flashes pitchability and with a decent three pitch mix and command of the bottom of the zone, he should be able to get a lot of outs out of the pen. As a hitter Perri is a spray type hitter. His hands load well and he maintain good balance throughout his swing, while generating average bat speed. He works to stay inside the ball but his hips tend to work a bit early. His arm has some carry and he sets up well to the ball in the outfield. Perri has a chance on the mound and should be followed into the spring period by programs that are still looking to sign some pitching depth.

Josh Perri is a 2006 outfielder/right handed pitcher from Pescadero, California, with a good frame and strong build that projects nicely. Perri stands in the batters box very relaxed and confident. He has very good bat speed, and strength to his swing. He projects as a middle of the line up type bat with the ability to drive the ball to the gaps. Perri has a strong lower half with some good quickness and the agility to play the outfield. He still has a year to go, but carries himself well, and shows no hesitation towards his game. Perri should have some big years ahead of him. Josh is very interesting.
