2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Jordan Taylor is a 6'4", 190 lb. first baseman/right handed pitcher from Antioch, Illinois, from the 2005 class. Taylor has a big frame and shows some good present power. Defensively he showed good footwork and the ability to play first base. At the plate, Taylor is a left handed hitter with an open stance. He shows plus bat speed from a solid base with a good swing. The ball jumps off his bat with easy power, and Taylor also shows the ability to use the whole field and not loose any power. On the mound he topped out at 73 mph with his fastball, and also mixed in a 65 mph curveball from a 3/4 arm slot. Taylor showed some good promise with the bat, and looks like he should be a solid power hitter at the next level.
