Harris Rome is a 2011 OF/LHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Memorial. Slender young build, plenty of room to add strength. Very good defensive outfielder, 6.79 runner, quick first step, aggressive to the ball, solid arm strength, smooth balanced actions. Crouched open stance hitting, never closes, pulls off ball in swing, pre-load approach, somewhat of a Japanese/Ichiro type approach, limited ability to drive ball at present, 4.20 home to 1B. Also pitched, consistent 85-86 mph fastball, sound mechanics, high 3/4's release, threw strikes, some sharpness to 72 mph CB. Very good student.

Spread stance hitting, smooth swing, has lift, uses hands well at the ball, gets extended, bat speed will keep improving with strength. Also pitched, mid 80's fastball from the left side, back turn delivery, hides ball well, better prospect as an OF'er. Premium athlete, follow closely. Very good student.

Feet work to ball in outfield, good first step quickness, good reads off bat. 3/4 arm slot on mound, smooth delivery with high leg kick, arm side run FB, 2-7 CB shows good spin - throws for strikes, works both sides of plate. Loose and relaxed at plate, wide stance with slight crouch, rotational approach, shows batspeed, makes barrel contact. Named to Top Prospect team.
