Ben Baker is a 2006 OF from Starr's Mill HS in Fayetteville, GA, with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame. He has a lean and athletic frame with speed and quickness. Baker ran a 6.77-60 on a slow track and gets down the line with the best of them. In the outfield he uses his speed and shows plus range in CF with very fluid strides and actions. Baker also has a strong arm and threw 84 mph from the OF with online carry on his throws. Baker is not just an advanced defensive player, he can do damage with the bat as well. He hits from the left side with a slightly open stance and quiet hands. Baker gets the bat through the zoned quickly with a smooth left handed swing. Baker is a patient hitter with good knowledge of the strike zone and keeps his weight back waiting for his pitch, and then he hits it hard. Currently he is a gap to gap hitter with projectable power and the next level. Baker is a very good all-around player with great upside, and is an outstanding student as well.
