J.J. Nace is a 2006 RHP/OF/SS from Arcadia HS in Phoenix, AZ, with 5'11", 168 lb. frame. The lean, but muscular right hander throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with good arm speed. He stays balanced throughout his delivery with smooth and easy movements, and finishes his pitches well. Nace has good control of all his pitches and changed speeds well. His fastball topped out at 78 mph, and he mixed in a 12 to 6 curveball with good depth. His best pitch on the day might have been his 68 mph changeup with good arm speed and sink. Nace used his change up effectively, and could be a strikeout pitch in the future. Offensively he is a right handed hitter who makes good contact to all fields. He has solid bat speed from a higher hand set, and has an aggressive swing. Nace shows good hustle and plays with good game speed. He is also a very good student.
