Cowan is a 2005 MIF from Scarborough, ON, Can with a 5'11"/185 pound body. He showed good speed in running a 6.96 60 yd during workouts. He is a smooth and solid fielder with good reactions, and soft, sure hands. He threw 77 mph across the infield with above average accuracy. He has a quick, fast bat with some nice raw power. During batting practice, he hit several deep flyballs to centerfield and hit one ball over 375 in the game. He's definitely a DI prospect. Jeff is a good student.

Cowan is a young "05" infielder from Ontario. At 5'10/180 he is solidly built and looks strong. He runs very well, close to MLB average. He has some arm strength, but that is an area he could improve. He shows very good hitting ability and that will be the ticket for his future. He creates excellent bat speed and shows possible big time power potential. He has some work ahead of him, but keep an eye on this kid. His bat and running ability show lots of potential.
