Jason Stoermer is a 2006 RHP from Daviess County HS in Owensboro, KY, with a 6'3'', 175 lb. frame. He throws from an easy, repeatable delivery with a full hip turn and a full, easy and loose arm action. Stoermer threw his fastball up to 87 mph at the showcase with good running and sinking action. With his lanky, young body and loose arm, it's easy to project more velocity in Stoermer's future. His best pitch at times was a 74 mph slider that had late, sharp biting action. He also showed good feel on a 78 mph change up. Stoermer showed advanced command of all three pitches and was calm and composed on the mound. He's a very good prospect with his present tools and Stoermer has a big upside as well. He could really come on in college and become a prospect that the professional scouts have to account for. Stoermer is a good student and has signed with Austin Peay.
