Jason Wagner is a young and slender 2007 catcher from Houston, Texas, with good overall body life. He’s also a hustling player who looks like he really enjoys himself out on the field. Wagner caught our attention in infield drills with his arm strength and quick release, but something happened when he put the catcher’s gear on because he didn’t show anywhere close to the same arm strength. That should come with experience and better footwork, but Wagner has a good arm. At the plate Wagner has a simple contact oriented swing with little lower half involvement. He had a couple of nice hits to right field off live pitching when he got the bat head out. Wagner has plenty of potential to keep improving over the next few years.
