Jared Roberts is a 2006 right handed pitcher from Trabuco Hills HS in Foothill Ranch, CA, with a 6'4", 210 lb. frame. Roberts has a good pitcher's body with projectability. He has a solid delivery with a short arm circle and good arm speed, and he finishes his pitches well out front. His fastball topped out at 84 mph and is very deceptive as he hides the ball well. Roberts has a good feel for his change up with late movement and arm side fade, and Roberts also mixes in a slow rolling curveball at 67 mph with good depth. He mixes his pitches well and gets outs with the movement on his fastball and solid changeup. He had a great performance in the showcase game going 4 innings and allowing only 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 7 of the 13 batters he faced. With his size and pitchability he needs to be followed closely.
