Jared Poole is a 2005 first baseman/left handed pitcher from Burlington, Iowa. Poole showed average footwork at first base with average hands around the bag. He hits from a slightly open stance with a nice and level swing with good bat speed. He is very strong and has quiet hands at contact. On the mound Poole throws from a 3/4 to low 3/4 arm slot with average arm speed. He throws across his body, but it allows him to get good movement on his pitches. Poole has a fastball that topped out at 73 mph, and mixed in a 59 curveball with a horizontal break from his lower arm angle. Poole gets outs by getting movement on his pitches from a low arm slot.
