2006 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Jeffrey Flax is a 2008 IF/C from St. John's College HS in North Potomac, MD with a 5'6", 149 lb. frame. Jeffrey is a very small kid that will need to fill out his frame. He is a switch-hitter that looked a little stronger from the left side of the plate. From the right side Jeffrey tends to sweep under the ball causing him to go primarily opposite field. He needs to work on getting a better load and really attacking the baseball more. From the left side Jeffrey shows better bat speed and will drive the ball more consistently. He is somewhat unagressive from both side of the plate and just needs to go up to the plate looking to drive the ball more. In the field Jeffrey has an accurate arm with good balance and projects best at second base. Defensively Jeffrey looks the best behind the plate. He has a quick release and transfer with an accurate arm. Jeffrey is a kid that will need to grow some, but should attract the attention of some smaller colleges.
