Cadena is a catcher with good agility behind the plate and a potent bat. Defensively he can get the job done with a 2.09 pop time and good receiving ability. He blocked everything, has energy and showed that he really knows how to catch. His bat is the thing that caught our attention. His swing plays much bigger than his size. At 5 foot 8 and 170 pounds he has a short, fast swing that packed a punch in batting practice and carried over real well in the games. He drove a good curveball into the gap, hit a powerful line shot to left field on a fastball and can just flat out knock the ball around the yard. With some additional arm strength, he would have the complete package.
