Jacob Winicki is a 2010 RHP/IF with a 6'0'', 160 lb. frame from Troy, MI who attends Birmingham Brother Rice HS. Medium athletic build. Compact drop/drive delivery, quick arm, 80-82 mph fastball, occ cutting action, sharp CB with tight, late break, 2 seam FB has sink. Also hitting prospect, has bat speed, good looking swing, consistent hard contact, gap to gap power, polished hitting approach, follow both ways.

Jacob Winicki is a 2010 RHP/3B/MIF with a 5'10'', 150 lb. frame from Troy, MI who attends Birmingham Brother Rice HS. He has a young build and a projectable frame for his age. Winicki is a two way prospect with talent to develop on both sides of the ball. On the mound, Winicki has a fast paced delivery with some back side collapse and recoil on release. There is lot of moving parts heading in different directions but Winicki is still able to throws strikes with good stuff for his age. He pitches aggressively with a fastball that topped out at 83 mph. He throws a 69 mph slurve type slider that needs some consistency, along with a change up. Winicki played very smoothly during the games at shortstop and showed very good arm strength and good, balanced actions. Winicki is a front foot hitter who raises up during his swing and makes solid, line drive contact to the middle of the field. He has some bat speed and squares up well on the ball. Like his pitching mechanics, balance is a present issue in his hitting that is going to have to be addressed. We like Winicki's projection and skills better as a position player at present but he needs to be follow both ways.
