Bryce Ely is a 2010 MIF/P with a 6'0'', 155 lb. frame from Apple Valley, CA who attends Apple Valley Christian HS. He has a thin, young lean build and minimal present strength. Ely has good balance, smooth feet and sound fundamentals on defense. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate throws. Ely has one spot athletic ability and looks like he's well coached but will have to work hard to improve his speed, quickness and arm strength as he gets older. Offensively, Ely hits from a short and late pull back load and tends to have busy feet during his swing. Most of his contact tends to be to right field from a line drive type of swing with limited extension. Lack of strength is holding Ely back right now with the bat. He also took a turn on the mound and showed very sound pitching fundamentals. His arm works smoothly and he throws strikes and works quickly. His fastball was up to 75 mph with good running action and he showed some quality with both his curveball and change up. With his projection and loose arm, Ely's future might be on the mound. He is an excellent student.
