Jesse Van Sickle is a 2008 3B 1B/C with a 6'3'', 235 lb. frame from Long Beach, CA who attends Woodrow Wilson HS. He has a large frame and a physical, mature body. Van Sickle has good baseball ability. Offensively he has present day power and an aggressive nature. His hands are strong and his bat is quick, with some life in his swing. Van Sickle made hard barrel contactd from center to right field. He is an RBI type of hitter that may not hit for great average but will produce runs with extra base hits. Defensively he showed off a nice release from 3rd base to go with solid hands. Van Sickle is a solid corner infielder and he also catches, which just might be his ticket to future opportunities at the college level. Because he has a chance to hit with some power, his bat stands out more as a catching prospect.
