Colton Armstrong is a 2008 C/RHP with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from Carthage, TX who attends Carthage HS. Colton has a medium frame with some present strength, with room to add size. He has a quick release behind the plate and present strength in his lower half. His quick release is reflected in his 1.93 pop time. He also had solid velocity from the catching position with a 75 mph best effort down to second base. His arm also showed some carry from the catching position. With the bat he showed pop from a low crouched stance, and his swing produces good backspin. He could hit for some power in the future as he continues to get stronger. On the mound he is a high effort guy with movement on his fastball, and 12-6 curveball that will spin tight. He drives hard off of his back leg and has quick actions. He has good command, and looks to get ahead early in the count.
