Allen Ward is a 2006 MIF/3B with a 5'9'', 175 lb. frame from Pace FL, who attends Pace HS. He has a strong present build, with compact strength that shows his work ethic. He shows very good quickness in the middle of the field and gets to lots of balls. His hands are soft and quick and he did an especially good job of starting and turning double plays from both sides of the bag. Ward probably profiles best at second base but he has some arm strength and can fill in at shortstop at the next level as well. Ward's best tools are with the bat though. He has a very quick bat with good bat speed and surprising pop for his size. Ward has a line drive swing and attacks the ball hard and drives it to all fields. He does a good job of waiting back on pitches and staying balanced. Ward hit a bomb home run to left field during a showcase game, which reminded us of the blast he hit at the South Showcase in Waco, Texas, during the summer. The young man has performed big time in the showcase games we've seen him in. We love his approach to the game; he plays hard and competes to win. Ward is a good student who should develop into a very good player at the Division I level. His coaches will love him. Good follow.

Ward is a 5-9, 175 lb senior infielder from Florida with good present strength and maturity. Ward ran the 60 in 7.29 but ran 4.16 to first base in the games and showed quick feet and actions on defense in the middle of the field. He threw 80 mph during infield drills with a longer, balanced release that looks more like a third baseman's. Ward's best tool is his bat. He has very good strength in his hands which enables him to develop bat speed without getting long to the ball. Ward also has some lift in his swing and showed his power potential both in BP and in games. He hit one 380+' fly ball to centerfield, then followed up with a long "no doubt" home run to left field in his next at bat. Ward can get busy with his hands in his set up and be late to the ball but when his timing is right he drives it hard. He's a good looking young hitter overall who plays with confidence. Ward is also a good student. He should make a very good college infielder with continued development.

Allen is a 2006 grad with a compact strong frame and build. He has some now strength and shows it with his bat. He has good bat speed with contact ability. He shows impact type speed and quickness out of box and on the bases. Short to his contact point with some raw strength that should be able to translate to some run production. Good smooth actions in the field and has sure hands to handle the routine groundball. Good player that should have a quality year and get serious interest from the next level.
