He touched 90 this outing and worked in the mid to upper 80's. He used a Hi 3/4 arm slot and throws downhill. His curveball has big 11/5 break with bite. His delivery has vewry little momentem and he used a low leg kick in this outing. We have seen him pitch up to 94 multiple times and expect him to be back at this velocity soon. Matthew Graham is a 2009 RHP with a 6'3'', 195 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Oak Ridge. Matthew is a strong and athletic player with present strength and broad shoulders. He still has some room to add to an already mature frame. He is a high effort thrower out of a high 3/4 arm slot. He has a serious fastball topping at 93 mph with heavy sink and arm side run. He has a good release point and uses a half leg lift with a Kevin Brown - like back turn to the plate. He commands his fastball well, and pounds the zone with it. His curveball breaks 11-5 and he slows down a little on it. His top curveball velocity was 75 mph. He works quickly to the hitter and looks to get ahead. He can also handle the bat, hitting from a high hand set and open stance. He generates bat speed and makes good contact with an aggressive approach early in the count. He is also a very good student. Matthew was named the top player at the showcase.
