Benson is a 6-2, 180 lb outfielder from Connecticut with a nice, proportional baseball frame that projects to get stronger. He showed very good speed, especially for his size, running the 60 in 6.91on the slow track. Benson also showed good defensive ability in the outfield, including throwing 82 mph with good fielding fundamentals. At this point Benson needs an overhaul in his hitting mechanics to reach the highest level. He hits with high separated elbows and a big body hitch that leaves him off balance and late to everything. With his strength, body and athletic ability he should definitely be able to improve with changes in his approach. Keep an eye on this athlete. Benson is a good student.

Benson is a 2005 OF from Hamden, CT with a 6'1"/180 pound frame. He has a good arm from the outfield, (79mph) with excellent accuracy. He showed good athleticism with very good range and he makes difficult catches look easy. He has good foot speed with a 7.06 in the 60. He hits from a balanced stance, with a level swing plane. He has an aggressive approach at the plate and showed some good of power to the pull side. He is a solid contact hitter, and he has a good feel for the strike zone. Griffin is a good student.
