Taylor Sandefur is a 2009 RHP/1B with a 6'1'', 210 lb. frame from Mechanicsville, VA who attends Atlee. Taylor has a strong well-developed build with very good present strength. On the mound Taylor throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short compact arm action that produces some armside run. Taylor has a somewhat complicated delivery and needs to fine tune his mechanics. At the plate Taylor has very good bat speed and stays inside the baseball well. He has big power potential at the plate and very good present strength for his age. In the field Taylor has the ability to play several different fields, but best projects behind the plate or at first base. Behind the plate Taylor has a strong arm with a good release. At first base he has clean actions and moves well around the bag. Taylor is a solid player that should attract the attention of many higher-level college programs.
