Garrett Lovelace is a 2009 C/P/1B with a 6'2'', 185 lb. frame from Canton, GA who attends Creekview HS. He has a big athletic frame with some present strength. Lovelace threw 66 mph during catching drills with a best pop time of 2.33. He has soft hands receiving the ball and a quick hand/glove exchange but his lower half lacks quickness. He's a 8.57 runner. Lovelace threw well in the games and made accurate throws. Offensively, Lovelace has an exaggerated pull/lift approach and steps out from an open stance looking to pull the ball. He has some bat speed due to his strength and can occasionally drive the inside pitch but will need to improve his direction and shorten his swing at the next level. Lovelace also took a turn on the mound, topping out at 76 mph on his fastball and showing some sharp spin on a 64 mph curveball.
