Grant Vogt -- Vogt is a young, slender sophomore catcher from Iowa who should improve his strength considerably over the next few years. We feel that Vogt must have been a bit nervous during the skills portion of the showcase because he performed much better in live game competition than he did in the workout. His pop times were a solid .30 sec’s quicker in games than in workouts and he showed better bat speed and swing fundamentals against live pitching than he did in batting practice. Vogt was a real hustler in games and showed strong fundamentals and particular aggressiveness running the bases. He’s a good student, too. Projects, a player to watch.
